In this presentation, we aim to introduce the basic finite element methods (FEM) coding techniques in the fields of the fluid dynamics, i.e., Navier-Stokes equations, specifically.   When it goes to the numerical simulation, in many popular fluid softwares, the procedure details of coding techniques are usually hidden and encapsulated into a black-box. Based on our experiences of numerical simulations of the Navier-Stokes and related sophisticated systems, we try to give a brief introduction of the detailed finite element coding techniques from the mesh discretization to the nonlinear system solvers. Some up-to-date high performance parallel computational techniques will also be introduced in the presence.
