Title: Geodesic cover of Fuchsian groups

Abstract: this talk is based on a continuing work of the one collaborated with X. Meng, where the notion of geodesic cover is originated and used to deal with the Erdős distinct distances problem in hyperbolic surfaces. In this talk, I will recall the notion for Fuchsian groups and explain the main ideas of classifying the qualitative properties of geodesic cover, which basically says having finite geodesic covers is equivalent to being finitely generated. Some gists will be conveyed for quantitative considerations of geodesic covers if time permits.

报告人简介：路志鹏，2018年毕业于美国印第安纳大学布卢明顿分校，之后工作于德国哥廷根大学，合作教授为洪堡教授Harald Helfgott. 目前任职于深圳北理莫斯科大学。
