Title: Expansions and growth in locally compact groups

Abstract: A central problem in arithmetic combinatorics is to obtain descriptions of subsets of groups with small expansions. In the talk, I will give a brief overview of the problem, and discuss some recent developments over locally compact groups. This is based on joint work with Jinpeng An, Chieu-Minh Tran, and Ruixiang Zhang.
