Abstract:This is joint work with Lei Zhao. I first explain how the flow of the restricted three-body problem for energies below the first critical value can be interpreted as a Reeb flow. To see that one has to interchange the role of position and momentum. Consecutive collisions become in this interpretation chords from a Legendrian to itself. They can be detected variationally as critical points of Rabinowitz action functional. Rabinowitz Floer homology then guarantees existence of consecutive collision orbits.
